That’s how I use them, but once I was told exclamation marks mean sarcasm and I was so confused…regardless, still could never shake the habit and hoped that people just understood, you know?

But they’re more just transitions for me from one idea to another, yknow what I mean? Or meant for a dramatic pause while reading. Ig I kinda built my own texting convention…well ig you can’t really call it a convention if no one else is in on it lmao

I think especially the old school character emojis, or ascii emojis, are so fun! I personally like them more than the newer emojis but they’re both fun either way

My personal favourites are the Telegram ones and the emoji mixer.

But in general I think of them as communication aid for expression.

Whatsapp had a animated emoji mixer for a little bit where you got to just mix random emojis and they could move and shit. That was fun but there is somethinh about the character/ascii emoji, the old school charm that I jjsg prefer over all the colors
