I think it’s due to there just not being that many people. Usually posts are pretty old by the time I scroll a little bit.

For distros usually any is fine since they’re customizable but I like Kali. Didn’t use most of the tools but it’s nice to have stuff you might wanna use and explore already in hand.

I guess that's true. I only have experience using bigger social medias so obviously, in comparison, char will have less comments and posts.

I'm thinking of going with arch. I'll get a new laptop, hopefully, at the end of this year and then turn the current one into a arch machine. It'll take me a while to get a handle on things but I'm kinda excited!

I liked having kali too, its cool to have access to so many apps but i also felt quite overwhelmed. I didn't even know where to start so I just got rid of it. I tend to run away when things are very overwhelming lmao. It's not a strategy I recommend though...for obvious reasons.

Also, are you into mech animes? I ask because of your name but if I interpreted that wrong, my bad, i'm sorry. (i mean, i chose the name epsilon but im not necessarily that knowledgeable about greek letters, math or space :P)

Arch is nice too I’ve heard! I’m more or less stuck with windows because of projects and studies, so I only really use Linux occasionaly on VMs and wouldn’t have the time for arch. I’m sure you can create something unique and useful for yourself!

I’ve watched some mech animes, but I’m definitely into figures and legos. A mech build really hits different for me. I’ve got so many Lego models at home and got a huge haul from when I went to Japan, nerded out like crazy there ;p

Are you into mech anime or novels? It really is a very cool genre, even in western media they’re so cool! (Pacific Rim was heaven, I rewatch that so often)

Its the same with me! That's why I have wait to get a new laptop first. Due to my uni work, I'm pretty much stuck using windows because they insist I use windows for some unfathomable reason.

Tbh, im kinda new to the mech genre. I've seen evangelion (that counts as a mech, right?) and i loved it. I've seen gundam gquuuuuuux and witch from mercury so I think its about time that I start from the top and make my way through the entire gundam franchise. I've just started gundam 0079.

I really want to get into model making as well but I just don't have the money. and you've been to japan? luckyy! I want to go too, someday.

Are the kits available for cheaper in japan? Because they're quite expensive out here.

I haven't seen pacific rim but I've heard so much that I feel like I should just watch it. Are there other movies I need to see before PR? or is PR a standalone film?

It is a bit of an expensive hobby, there is no shame in buying knockoffs from temu or Aliexpress though! Quality isn’t too much worse and it’s a fraction of the price. I try to buy originals when I can but I have bought some knockoffs before.

Japan is a whole anoter world for that stuff. Not only are there so many huge stores selling kits and figures, Japan has a massive resell market with stores like Mandarake that you can find retired stuff very often for cheap secondhand prices. I really hope you’ll get to see it someday too!

My roommate’s very into models (I lean a bit more into Lego) so we get cargo from Japan so often. I think his dad has some deal with a company, we have boxes upen boxes.

Pacific Rim is like a loveletter from the west to mech anime. I’m sure you’ll love it. It is standalone, but know that it has an atrocious sequel that really doesn’t deserve that title. It still scratches that mecha itch a bit but not as good as the first.

evangelion was so fucking good!! That's why I watched gundam gquuuuuuux because it was made by the same direction: Hideaki Anno. It's apparently an alternate timeline to the actual gundam timeline though...

I wonder how much a knockoff model would cost.

I'm so hype to visit japan, whenever that happens...gosh what's gonna happen to my savings when i go? I'm gonna end up buying so much stuff lmao

Prices depend on what and where you’re buying from, though usually it’s an acceptable price for the size of the model you’re buying.

Travel and staying is surprisingly cheap in Japan, the most money I spent was on the stuff I bought haha :p

Yess, please let me know what you think afterwards! Watching PR for the first time is definitely an amazing experience.

And yeah, thats why i worry for my savings when I go to japan and see the merch for all the shows that I love but havent been able to buy any merch for- T_T

And yeah, ill let you know, but ill probably just make a post and tag you with my thoughts on PR (if thats okay with you!)
