I have a cheap VPS it could be hosted on. Might spin up a container and test the API and see how usable it is. What languages do you code in?

Mostly Rust or Typescript. Unless I'm doing something fancy, for something like this I think typescript's model is ideal to use to create something simple enough.

I haven't used Typescript. I've been mucking about in Python lately. Have a pretty fun Discord bot that has games. I used to code microcontrollers in cpp but that's been a long time. I'll have a look at Typescript and see what it would take to learn it.
