Is the choices you make your own? Or driven by survival and the need to preserve your specie? Does this mean we lack a consciousness or is consciousness survival? Does that make us any better than the deer we hunt?
How is it possible to be isolated in a world where everything watches you? In a feeling sense, sure, but in reality, it's impossible. Silver lining? You're never alone :)
Thats true, I have no more to add because I can't really find a reason against that. Maybe because of anomalous choice and conformity that allows us to do that which shows that we in fact do have a choice because of our comfort. Maybe free will is stunted because of survival rather than vice versa.
Ah I see where you're coming from. My counter point to this is that reading for enjoyment could also be a survival strategy.
Doing something that lowers stress could also be a way people survive because stress is needed for survival but too much can also detriment your mental health. So by keeping stress to survive highly dangerous situations and lowering stress to reduce it from damaging your mental health.
This might be a stretch but hopefully you see where I'm coming from :)
I understand your point and I see where this can contradict my statement. Self harm is often considered counter productive, and you'd be right. In this case it could be a few things: -Your brain cannot process a large amount of emotion and perhaps seeks a way to process it through self harm (my answer is not definitive, everyone has their own reasons and please take everything I say with a pinch of salt) -The need to remove yourself to preserve your own species because you could potentially cause harm to others around
Or simply -No other options are left therefore you should not exist.
I hope that if you DO feel this way that you get through it and that the future brings you happiness. :)
Theres no proof to free will nor proof against it. Honestly, it's more of what you believe. Some look in a more pessimistic view, some in a more positive view.
Sometimes some questions don't have answers. Or maybe they do.
