The other side of this expectation of affection is understanding that you deserve to be loved as much as the next person is. Again, I know this may sound too simple, but talk to your friends, your roommate, and anyone else you're concerned you gave a bad impression to. You'll find that even if you did make them uncomfortable, they will often want to understand, especially if you initiate the conversation.

Relationships can only deepen built on mutual understanding. Hiding yourself constantly and suddenly bursting out into a different person will be worrying to your companions who believed you to be a different person.

Reiterated, just talk, first, at least. From there, you can get a better idea of what your company actually thinks, instead of wallowing in anxious projections.
